Laiki Group and Laiki Investments leading the way once more have created in cooperation with the international company SFM Group, one year ago the first ever equity mutual fund (Undertaking for Collective Investment Scheme) that is registered in Luxembourg and invests in Greece and Cyprus.
The creation of the Fund is particularly important taking into consideration the operation of the common platform between the Stock Exchanges of Cyprus and Greece. Through this fund Laiki Group offers investors the opportunity to invest in these markets and at the same time promotes the development of the local capital market through the inflow of foreign investments.
The Greece-Cyprus Opportunities Fund is part (sub-fund) of World Investment Opportunities Funds (WIOF) SICAV, a series of mutual funds registered in Luxembourg. The custodian of the fund is KBL, member of one of the largest banking groups in Europe. The Fund is distributed in more than ten countries abroad through authorized distributors of SFM Group, while the total assets of the fund exceed €14 m.
The Manager of the Fund is Laiki EDAK and Asset Management, one of the largest asset management companies in Cyprus, with total assets under management in excess of CYP 135 m.
The Fund is registered for distribution in Cyprus and is available from Laiki Bank (agent) and other authorized distributors.
Investing through mutual funds offers significant advantages to investors, especially after our accession to the European Union that created big challenges in the area of financial services and investments.
Some of the main advantages of investing through mutual funds are:
· Diversification of risk (also required by the current Legislation)
· Custody and safe keeping of assets by an independent custodian.
The ability to liquidate at any time your units at their current prices (the unit prices are announced on a daily basis on Bloomberg and the WIOF · website - www.wiof.eu)
· Professional management
· Full transparency of investment actions
